So a past employee was dismissed in the retail company I work for and I was a witness in the dismissal proceedings for her and she felt like she was unfairly dimissed and has taken legal action against the company and there's a hearing about the dismissal of her against the company and she wants me to be a witness and testify basically on her behalf but I still work at the company could this affect my job in anyway could I possibly be fired? Please and thank you

I suggest you politely decline as your testimony will place your job in jeopardy.
you indicate your witness appearance in the proceedings may have been instrumental in the dismissal. Walk away.

you could not in any way be victimised for testifying, or you would have substantial grounds for compensation.

However , there can be passive victimisation , lack of job promotion etc

its up to you to decide where your values lie and only you

Should you decide to testify, may you receive adequate compensation for your naivety. Walk away, really.

Did you witness the material event that resulted in dismissal or did you witness the dismissal process?
