There has been a light aircraft accident east of Dungarvan recently near the N25 (Knocknagranagh). No other details available however it wouldn't be a massive distance from the other crash in 2015.

A little more information is reported in the Irish Times article.
It appears to be an aircraft from the Waterford Flying Club.

    Off topic, insensitive, and inappropriate.

I remember the one not too long ago very close to where this occured, was very sad, seems to be a blackspot for these type of incidents.

    RIP :(

I was out flying this evening, nearly at the same time, just in Wicklow/Arklow area, got carb ice twice. Conditions were "perfect" for it near the coast, you could see the humid air raising up to about 2000 feet and then crystal clear above, as if it's divided by inversion

my observation is not meant as a speculation as to what happened, but more like a reminder for those pilots who are resuming the flying activities after the winter break - don't let the warm spring sun fool you

Same guidelines as for R116 please, respect for the deceased means that some topics and thoughts are inappropriate right now, hence a few snips above.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Any idea what type of aircraft was involved in the crash?

    I believe it was a Rutan Long-EZ.
