I'm looking at buying a car in Northern Ireland and wanna find out what VRT will be before I buy it.

I don't know the exact model but the licence plate is visable in the photos so I used the Text service (57252) and it said €6694, while the Motorcheck website quoted €4918.

    Anyone help??

What is the registration number? There are no photos showing.

Give a link to the ad please?

Be aware that certain build dates will have different co2 figures to others, you need to ensure the model you select on the official VRT calculator matches the emissions figure of the particular car.

    It's VRT.ie
Not an official government site. They do not guarantee they will give you the correct model etc.
Only costs €2 to be fair.

    Emissions are 146g

    I make it €5322

    Statistical 44289374

Your €6500 figure is for the 2.0 TDI non bluemotion model which is 30% VRT vs 23% as it is higher emissions.

Will vary slightly depending on month of first registration, but Revenue VRT site has it around €5.5k.

Another thing to be aware of is that that car is from Bangor in Wales, which is by the sea. I'd be checking the undercarriage very carefully for corrosion.
It went through an MOT last year, but worth being aware of.

    €5490.

Also worth noting that when you book it in for VRT assessment that the amount depreciates slightly (e.g if you bought it tomorrow, but the first available date was April 4th, the amount due may be slightly less, say €5435 for example) so leave it to the last possible minute to arrange bank draft etc for VRT- happened when I imported mine in Nov but couldn't book it in until Dec.1st and the amount owed had dropped due to it being a new month.

April 1st is Saturday so that is good to know.
