Be interested to see would it be cheaper to buy a decent set from a breakers yard.

The going rate is about 400 or so for that size, go for it there is nothing better than picking up your shiny new wheels after a refurb :)

Jesus they're in an awful state! You're going to be very happy if you give them to Wheel Wizards in Finglas or Rim Solutions in Park West.

I know :( Bought the car about 10 months ago, didn't think they were too bad but the cleaner the car the more you notice it

I emailed Wheel Wizards and Car Cosmetix

My wife very kindly got mine refurd in wheel whizzards for my 30th. Think they were 350 a corner for 17" 75 a corner. I was very happy with the results

    €350 a corner :confused::confused:

I would have thought 350 all in.

If the wheels are that bad - What kind of condition is the car in?

Spotless in my opinion but the wheels are shocking :(

One reply saying it's beyond them but they gave me a number of someone else

Christ. Apologies, that was a typo. They were around 70 a corner ex vat and that brought it to around 350 (small discount applied by them)

You trying to give me a heart attack!? :D

I'd be ok with 3-400 but if they're that bad I might be better looking for another set :(

Yeah, had a look there and on Done Deal last night. Probably a better option. Cheers

There's no way a refurb will cost €350 per corner.

Yeah it was a typo, corrected above by GavMan

Who said it was beyond them to refurbish? Looks like a straight forward job to me.

Well if they can't refurbish a wheel there's not much hope for them.
I'd steer clear of the place in Bray too.

Wheel wizards seem to be doing consistent good work, I've had three sets of wheels done by them and have another couple of sets to do.

I have 4 or 5 pin prick holes in one of my alloys causing it to slowly lose pressure over a week. If it's refurbished will it stick out like a sore thumb compared to the others, or can I polish the other three up myself to an decent state?

I was thinking of treating my OH and getting his alloys on his 04 C Class refurbed as they are manky, but he's resisting saying that our mechanic says it's a waste of time.

The car is sound mechanically, and he's anal about keeping the bodywork in good nick, and the wheels really let it down.

I think it's worth the money to get it done what would ye think?

Kersplat, sorry for hijacking your thread.

Wheel Wizards all day long for this job. It's mainly cosmetic with some slight curb rash in places, a standard affair for them. A set of 17's should set you back between 320-350 with them I'd say, but the good part will be that you can choose what colour you want them to be refurbed in and with the red car, an anthracite/gun metal would look lovely on it. ;)
