still a bit meh. turkey shoot at oceania was a bit funny. the zombies have become irrelevant now i think. the season finale has a LOT to live up to.

Terrible, what a waste of ammo with the zombies as well. The maggie bits are definitely the worst of the lot. Just overall another bad episode.

i think rick got a blowy at the end, Was better than the last few episodes but yea have a feeling the final episode is going be all but a wet fart.

I thought it was fine. It had structure to it, something which has been sorely lacking recently. We got three different plot strands (albeit hardly the most compelling ones) and then the twist at the end (which had been well signposted). If they had followed that simple formula for most of the season, instead of veering off on those ridiculous tangents, it would have been far better.

And just because next week is the last one I'm not going to assume it will be great. The season has been so all over the shop that it wouldn't surprise me if they make a total balls of the finale!

As the last episode before a season finale, it was pretty bad. In context vs the reason of the reason, it was above average.

Those waterlogged walkers - trypophobia much?? ugh.

I think this whole season has been leading Dwight back to Alexandria - of course Rick and co don't know that yet, but we the audience have seen his conflict throughout the season. He acts the hard man when he's around Negan, but when he's on his own, we see the real story. Is he on the level with them? Probably, but of course we won't know for sure until if/when he kills some (recognisable) Saviours, like Simon or some of the others we've seen coming to Alexandria. Maybe himself and Daryl will even reach some sort of grudging understanding, before Dwight, in true Hollywood fashion, gets walker-ed!!

Better than the last few. If they had skipped or compressed most of the last few episodes into one they would have lost nothing and still had a couple of episodes left for actual plot development.

While they say that there will not be a cliff hanger like last season, it'll probably end with a minor skirmish with the likes of Sasha getting killed (she won't take that pill), Negan driving away and then cut to Rick saying "come on, let's finish them" and the season will end.

Next season will be the protracted war anyhow I'd say, at least until the mid season finale.

    Nope.
I think they should have started the episode with this and removed pointless filler like Maggie killing 2 walkers.

Why was Maggie taking ages to kill the first walker but took out the second one in no time.

Was an okay episode, they kind of had to rush parts of it and next week has the potential to be a total mess. Depends on how much they want to cover. But with such a long build up to the war surely it won't be resolved in a single episode.

Negan's 'Rapey Dave' line was pretty funny, he was less annoying in this episode than previously.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,749 ✭✭✭Flippyfloppy

Good thing for Sasha rapey Dave thought it was feasible to attempt rape with the door wide open. I mean, thank god because I was cringing hoping they wouldn't go there, but as if he'd go ahead with the Open Door Policy!

I thought rapey Dave was sent in by negan, just so negan could save Sasha, and get her to join the saviours.. would have been a decent twist.

They really need to flesh out the cunning side of negan, as it's not exactly clear to the audience why his people stay loyal to him while being in fear of him.

I liked how that happened off screen.
it worked once so I hope they won't re-use it

"We want to stop Negan, who's a bad guy who stole all our guns. So we'll steal someone else's guns and leave them defenseless because we're the good guys"

Nice of Negan to have an anti-rape policy in the same compound where he has multiple women to have 100% consensual sex with him.

They need to be consistent in how long it takes someone to turn. Like how long was Dave dead for before he turned?

To be fair they've always been consistent in showing that reanimation time is inconsistent!

yeah, the "turn time" has always been a random thing even since the first episodes.

well the second one was on top of someone else and an easy target. She only had a small trowel and struggled with the first one a bit

I was though happy to see the return of a ninja walker appearing out of nowhere to attack Gregory from about a foot away

Yeah the best Ninja Walker was the Dale walker. Empty field and he comes from behind

Did anyone else think that Sasha had company behind the door when she was talking to Eugene? I thought, briefly, that maybe Neegan was in there with her. That she'd betray Eugene, so that she'd be trusted, and able to kill Neegan.

my favourite is when Andrea is walking through woods.....lots of noise with every step on twigs and leaves.

she stops and leans up against a tree...all quiet....nothing around...

...suddenly two walkers all over her moaning away!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,735 ✭✭✭✭Penn

So, they waste a whole bunch of their dynamite on a f*cking distraction, then waste loads of their ammo on walkers (who were attracted because of the explosions) rather than just knife them (as there were a whole bunch of them and they've taken out bigger groups of walkers than that before), all to get guns out of a shed which clearly a) wasn't being guarded and b) isn't behind some huge walls as they already managed to sneak into the compound anyway. Plus, they just straight up stole the guns whereas with the scrapyarders, Hilltop and the Kingdom, Rick was all about teamwork and trying to get them on-side (it's still not even clear if he knows The Kingdom are going to fight with them).

Plus, Sasha managed to get captured (off-screen, and they didn't mention her killing any of their guards or anything which means she got captured fairly easily), and Dwight obviously got the drop on Rosita before telling her he wanted to help them and surrendering himself (Rosita likely wouldn't have believed Dwight otherwise).

    They deserve to lose.

It has been a season of build to (I bet) no pay off....its like the tv equivalent of Dubstep!

Boooooring. Shyte season. I'm positive next week will be epic and they will think they are the best show on telly. So much filler.

Better episode, mainly due to the different storylines.  Hoping next week will be a good finale.

i think this may be my first time posting in here, but my god this season has dragged and given nothing of note will happen without the cliffhanger.. you can sum up this season in one sentence.

"rick and the gang realise they need to get rid of the saviours" it's taken 16 episodes and it wont happen til season 8

My guess was they were saving the pyrotechnics budget for the last episode, but then there was the attack on the coasties...
yeah, the "turn time" has always been a random thing even since the first episodes.

The other thing the doc in the CDC whispered to Rick was that the turn time had been scientifically shown to be whatever length of time was required by the plot.

I had to laugh at that "I need a weapon" Spiel. Yeah, if only she had a big shiny bowie knife like the one she killed Rapey Davey with and was available to be retrieved any time she felt like it. Oh...

I think they were barnacles, and those walkers were the crew from the wrecked freighter in the background.

Likewise. I'm expecting the ending to be rushed, or that the last episode will be the opening of all-out war with the saviours, to be continued next season (please, Zeus, noooo...).

The fightback should really have got going in episode 13 or 14, instead of which we had a lot of masochistic filler and Rosita's epic sulk. Rosita and Shasha's Judean People's Front suicide squad doesn't count.

I haven't seen the last 3 episodes, each week I go on and check this thread to see people opinions on whether it's worth watching. It's gone like Lost now, pure poison.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,612 ✭✭✭uncleoswald

Why, when they have so much time to build up to the finale, and episodes dedicated to getting each particular faction on board, does it still seem like they will have way too much to cram into the last episode? How can a show simultaneously seem languid and rushed!? The only way I can see it working is if the last episode is just a build-up to a season 8 opener battle.

I hope the season ends with Rick and Co. triumphantly returning to Oceanside after killing the Saviours, only to find all the women dead because they couldn't defend themselves from another army of barnacle zombies since Rick and Co. stole all their weapons. Doh!

Given we've seen no action so far in terms of a battle we can bank on the finale just being a tease and we'll have to wait for season 8. The finale will probably only have Sasha's death as a highlight.

They really are dragging the living fcuk out of this, a long protracted season with so much filler.

I stopped watching at episode 11, then bulked watched the 4 tonight in a row and nothing really happened, pretty confident the season finale will be cut from the same cloth, at most sahsa will die and the war will be on the verge of starting but then it'll cut to the credits and we'll have to wait until season 8.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,165 ✭✭✭stargazer 68

Sets of dynamite explosions in the forest, assuming there's not many walkers around.
All the women go running towards the explosions. Remind me why would anyone do this, expect in an episode of SG1?
No one goes for the guns in this situation...
"We don't want to hurt you", yet the explosions and sniper fire seem to suggest otherwise.
Steals all their weapons and fcuks off.

Sounds a bit like Rick n Co are actually Saviours in denial. They're certainly stupid and arrogant enough anyway.

This season is a turd. I don't see any way for the finale to justify the steam rising from it. I think next week will be my last TWD episode, which I am not happy about :(

I have loved The Walking Dead from the first season but the quality has gone down a lot. This season I didn't watch week to week and binge watched over the weekend. I have to say I'm not impressed. There were some really good moments but some awful ones as well. Where did the junkyard people come out of and why would Rick make that deal with them??

I thought this season would be all about the different communities coming together to fight against the saviours but with only one episode to go, there is no build up. The communities haven't come together and at this stage, I can't see there being a big show down with the saviours.

Having binge watched the second half of this series, I am disappointed. There has been no huge suspense. At one stage when Sasha locked Rosita out I thought Daryl was gonna save the day but that didn't happen.

I don't have high hopes for tomorrows episode. There is not plan between the communities and while they have Dwyte, that's not enough. I really hope they kept most of the budget for the last episode because this season has been dire overall.
