Can anyone tell me, altho I think I know the likely answer., is it possible to import a passenger vehicle, commercialise it by removing the back seats etc, before registering it, therefore only having to pay commercial rate vrt rather than the full passanger rate?

Depends on the vehicle but yes it's still possible, it's almost impossible to get them crewcabbed now but only 2 seats is still possible. It's not the flat rate of 200 euro anymore for commercials is 13.5 %
