Oil change warning

I have a 161 Focus with very little mileage - 5k on it. It mostly sits in my driveway. It is not due a service until 20k or the end of April. The oil level is fine. Can I leave it until it is getting it's first service or is this something I need to get checked?

Oil in a car engine will become acidic over time due to the combustion compounds present in the oil.
A low mileage car is even more at risk of developing problems by having condensation due to lack of use and heat drying off the water.
Personally I'd change it but the choice is yours.

The oil change warning is likely just a preset interval/time programmed into the car from when it was initially PDI'd (probably a year ago) Unless the level is low, you'll be grand till the end of April.
