... you have a EGU handicap?

My father is coming over in June to visit, well a week of beer and golf.
Wanted to take advantage of the cheaper rounds at various places when there is an open competition on.
My father is a member back in England so his handicap is issued by the EGU.
How does he enter a competition here?
I recall last time he was here and we tried the signing in computers wouldnt take his membership number/card (as suspected) and there was no one around to ask either how.

Wondered if you nice guys could tell me how this works?

Suggest you call the clubs where he hopes to play and ask them.

Maybe your Dad can use his log on credentials for this website to show any prospective clubs he's playing open competitions at that he has a valid handicap.

Not sure if anyone was interested in the outcome here but I will feedback anyway.
I emailed about a dozen clubs with interest of playing their opens and explained the handicap situation.
The overall feedback was great and most came back with a yes you can play with the EGU handicap, it will mean you have to do it all manually, we will countersign the card, and let you play for the reduced fee.

So all in all a good result. And we have a full week of golf arranged now for June with a different course each day, all in opens.

    Result

Sorry to hijack this thread, but didn't want to start a new one. I won an away open this day last week (results published on their website). Tried emailing them to see what prizes were but I wanted to just verify something before I rang, as havn't heard from them since. Am I right to assume there will be a prize for 1st/2nd? Or does an "open" just mean you play the course at a reduced rate?

A lot of courses would do prizes as a ratio versus numbers who play
The more that play the more prizes given out

    Some do a 1,2,3 Prizes

Some give top couple of players a chance to play for a big prize on another day later in the year
