Does anyone have any experience of a good roofing contractor to fix a leaking roof? In Dublin city/Crumlin area. Water dripping into kitchen yesterday with all the rain. can anybody recommend a tar/paint I could use to seal temporary ? while waiting for contractor to come. Can I get this at local hardware store ? Thanks

Head down to expert hardware in the village and get a tin of bitumin paint/tar - i think it cost about a tenner or less.
If you know where the crack is you can just paint it on.

I patched up my own flat roof in crumlin there 2 years ago.... although I torched on a square of felt over the rip and i put the bitumin paint around the edges of my square to be sure.

Im not saying thats the way you SHOULD do it - I'm not an expert, but mine has held up the last few years - although the whole roof will have to be done at some stage as i can see cracks in the top layer.

Tec 7 is an excellent repair, easy to apply, available in tubes, small and large tins. A flat roof repair I did with it has lasted a few years at this stage and it's in an area of constant pooling. Use Tec 7 solvent for smoothing down or cleaning.

Pick up a bucket of water stop.. You will get it in the KCR.
