    Hi there
I'd like to point out that I'm genuinely not planning to sell my car any time soon (except every time I have to tax it lol) so this really isn't a sneaky advert but I'm seeing prices online and would welcome a reality check. Plus the guy who last did work on it wanted to buy it from me and I want to see if he was being straight with me.

I've a black (very dark blue) 01 E39 M5 with 63K miles on it in very good nick - I have it since 2008 when I imported it from the UK with 27K miles on it. Interior is the black/grey leather. Never crashed etc. Never raced. Everything is stock.Wheels are in good nick, body is in good nick, everything works

The maintenance history is not 1st class since I only did what needed doing when it arose as opposed to scheduled work and the work wasn't done at main dealers (most of the work was done by AC cars over the years)

I'd welcome views on what this is worth and if the UK would be a better place to sell if it ever came to it.

    Thanks a lot in advance
    K

M5 is a special case all other e39 values are nearly zero but m cars seem to hold a bit of value well above.

There are a few 00 e39 m5 asking anywhere from 17-20k but yours sounds better these have double the miles.

Then there is an 05/06 e60 m5 with mileage like yours and its asking 18k.

No idea what they go for I have never looked at this end of the 5 series before.

UK would be better option, yes. Irish market is hugely limited now to be honest but someone looking for one will definitely consider yours as there is not much competition.

Have a look at UK sites to get an idea of prices.

VRT refund might be substantial too.
