Hi I'm wondering if anyone can answer a quick question for me. I'm looking at getting Eir, Sky or Virgin broadband. Will I have to change from my current landline provider to get one of their broadband packages? Or can I stay with my landline provider and go with a different company for broadband?

    Thanks

Who are you with? IF you are with SKY, Eir, or Vodafone, it is simply a UAN transfer - you transfer both landline and BB. In this case, you do not cancel anything, as transfer should be seamless and will be taken care of by the new provider.

If you are with any of the above and want to transfer to Virgin, you need to cancel your contract, as Virgin operate on a different network. If you are with Virgin and want to transfer to Sky or eir or VF, again you will need to cancel Virgin and start a new process.

You can opt for line sharing if you so wish.

Eg: Phone with Eir, Broadband with Sky.

Not sure how economical that is, Sky charge a supplement for not having the phone line with them. The supplement is €30, I think.

Not suggesting it, but thats the question the OP asked.
