    Hi Guys.

Never owned a black car before so I want to be careful with washing a black metallic paint

    Any advice?

Normally in the past I would power wash the car would that still be okay now?

No different to other cars just black is easy to spot defects in paint and pain to keep looking good. But done right black can look amazing.

Pressure washer good, if you can/want get a snow foam lance so can use snow foam pre wash.

Then 2 bucket method, 1 bucket for your shampoo and one with just water to rinse your mitt after every wipe of car.

Worth a watch for basic steps

As said, no difference in care for any colours...just that certain colours show up dirt or wash damage more easily.

Minimum you want to be washing the car with safe wash techniques. And good quality wash products.
    - 2 Buckets & Grit Guards....washing using the Two Bucket Method (2BM)
    - pH neutral shampoo, on that offers good slickness...more important than suds.
    - good quality washmitt; microfiber or lambswool
    - good quality microfiber drying towel; with a high GSM (grams per sqm); around 1000 GSM
    - pH neutral wheel cleaner and a brush that won't scratch the surface

I'd advise you to get to the gym and work on your fitness as you'll be washing the car a lot if you want to keep it looking clean:D

I've a metallic black car and it's a pain in the balls to keep looking clean, although it does look fantastic when freshly washed and waxed.

Follow Curran's advice as set out above and that will see you right.

+1 on the PITB keeping a dark coloured car clean.
I'd also suggest getting a second mitt for solely for cleaning wheels and the lower part of the body - keeping your primary mitt for the rest.
