Acoustic Insulation Between Floors

Currently renovating a house built mid 90's, timber joists with chipboard nailed on top of on top floor.

Doing some plumbing works so lifted the floor in the landing. Carpenter recommending I put down some Rockwool acoustic insulation as floor already up.

I'm going to be laying a laminate floor in the landing and the rest of upstairs. Underlay 2mm rubber acoustic rated 23db and a 12mm board which I hope will help with impact noise.

I'm wondering, for airborne noise, would it be worth considering laying the Rockwool acoustic insulation on the entire first floor?

Cost involved being the acoustic insulation and new plywood to lay over the joists. Or is it overkill with what I'm doing?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Definitely insulate !! Would a rigid insulation give better noise insulation? Just wondering I have no expertise. But my mother's biggest regret in our home house (built 1983) is that she allowed the builders to fob her off when she requested insulation in the GF ceiling/FF floor. You can hear everything upstairs downstairs in that house no matter where you are.

Yeah, this is my concern. Especially as I can get access to joists now and never want to have to lift floors again.

If only I hadn't burned through my contingency funds already!
