Hi folks, am 45 and a mature student in college. due to have surgery next monday on a cataract in my right eye. The letter states I need someone to be with me as the eye drops will blur my vision.
I mentioned it to my lecturer tady and she said her son has his eyes checked regularly and it will take about two days before I can see well enough to type, do college work etc.
Has anyone else had any experience in these drops, how bad do they make you vision and for how long?
Due in st james on wed for broken jaw so don't fancy being half blind while there.

Generally speaking when you wake the following morning after surgery your distance vision should be pretty good. You may struggle with you reading and will probably need to get reading glasses when the eye has settled down.
You'll have more discomfort from you Jaw than from the eye!

The dilating drops used on the day of surgery last for a maximum of 24 hours. Most people are blurry the day of the surgery and maybe the next day, but it settles quickly.
