    Bmw f10 18"wheels
Any suggestions for upgrading the brakes.

Can I fit larger discs ? They seem pretty large as standard.

How about better pads, currently using oem.

    Recommendations ?

(18" on run flats.. no intention of larger wheels, don't want to break my spine)

Any particular reason for upgrading the brakes? Have they become spongy or just not as efficient as they used to be?

There are a few steps you can take to improve your braking. One of the most overlooked would be changing your brake fluid. As it absorbs water it will degrade over time, and will give that spongy brake pedal feel.

Check the condition of the brake discs, looking for that outer edge starting to form from wear and tear. Check the brake pads thickness levels through the inspection slot on the caliper.

The brake hoses themselves can perish over time, so perhaps they might need renewing.
A good upgrade here would be to go the braided stainless route, as the metal won't expand as much as rubber so will give a more precise, firmer brake pedal feel. Check demontweaks on ebay for the stainless brake hoses, they are reasonably priced. I don't know anywhere here selling them.

    Hope this helps.

Brake fluid due a change (2yr change) in July

But, I like to push the car on at times, and there's no point in doing the speed, if you can't stop.

Ive no hesitation in spending money to upgrade performance, currently running 224bhp.

I just find the brakes not as sharp as I'd like.
They are probably performing as good as factory spec, but I want better.

I'll look into the hose upgrade.

It'll be 15k km before I get it done.
But if I know what is needed, I can hopefully pick the items up on at a discounted rate prior to having them fitted.

I'm running oem discs and pads, on an 18" setup,

Can I go larger with discs ?
If so, what disc /pad combo would be recommend, along with the upgraded brake hoses.

    Thanks

I would head over to the likes of bmwdriver or such owners club forum, and check what setup the guys on there use.
They will have tried various wheel / disc combinations to give you an idea of what clearances you have with your current setup.
