House build in 1970 with out planning

    In middle of buying a house at final stage but has come to our attention there is no planning permission for this bungalow where do we stand on it could it be knocked

    OP your solicitor will advise. This is the sellers problme not yours. Your solicitor would need to check have planning enforcement ever initiated proceedings on the property. Before determining the status of the dwelling i.e. Whether it 'could' be demolished or is non-compliant with planning.

    Get the current owners to apply for retention.
    Could open big can of worms with regards to drainage, septic tanks etc
