Hi there looking for advice on a freelance venture. I'm currently employed for just over a year and am earning a salary of €29000 PAYE. Through college I worked at a hair stylist specialising in bridal to cover my tuition and since then have also ventured into my other passion of makeup. My job is Monday to Friday to my ambition is to work freelancing in hair and makeup on weekends as my other job is quite demanding il limit myself on what hours il be working and I will at most take in around €160 on a weekend bare in mind that will not be profit as iv invested quite a lot of money into my kit and upskilling. My question is how to best go about paying my taxes it's an area that I am aware a lot of people are working in without paying taxes but I want to go the legal route. Bare in mind I won't be anywhere near requirements for vat. If anyone has been in a similar situation or can offer some solid advice it would be much appreciated.
