Estate cars

I'm going cross eyed from looking at cars online but have finally narrowed down my choices, but I'm open to suggestions.

    Budget: 9k-10k
    Annual Mileage: less than 10k
Primary use: To and from work, transport once-weekly grocery shopping, twice weekly doggy days out :D
Must have: estate sized boot, large enough to hold 2x 33kg dogs without folding down the rear seat.
Other considerations: I'm not interested in UK imports. This is non-negotiable.
Engine Size: Between 1.4 and 1.6

I've been mainly looking at the Dacia Logan and also some Peugeot estate models.

    Any thoughts?

    Kia ceed/Hyundai i30 1.4?

No idea how big those dogs are in boot terms.

The dogs are big enough, both golden retriever crosses. Comparative size would be a german shepherd. A friend has an i30, only one would fit in the boot comfortably for longer trips. At the moment the boot of the Renault Laguna is just about taking them.

Is your friends i30 an estate or a hatchback though?

It's a hatchback, I didn't realise that the Ceed came in estate flavour too! I've been doing all my browsing through carsireland website and it's hard to tell from the photos when they differ in length. It took me ages to learn my way around the Peugeots! Why can't they name the feckin cars in an indicative way for folk like me!? :D

You can usually filter by body type. But that relies on the vendor knowing that they have an estate.

I gave up on the body type filter precisely because a lot of the dealers don't label the cars correctly for this category.

i'd be looking at an MPV, so the dogs can stand up comfortably. Galaxy, possibly an S-Max.

You should consider a diesel as it'll be easier to sell on, in fact you'll probably end out with one as petrols are rare in estate's these days.

You could check out the Citroen Berlingo Multispace.
Lots of space and easy to load.

    Volvo v50 1.6D?

The boot in these is pretty small. The large estates are Passat Mondeo Octavia but don't know if you'll find those in petrol or within budget.

Not a car person by any means. But we have two Opel Astra estates for two husky crosses (approx 25kg each) and they have plenty of room in the back.

We've no complaints with the cars. We have a 1.3 and a 1.7(?). Only thing is i wouldn't get the 1.3 as i feel it's too small of an engine for the size of the car. I much prefer driving the 1.7.

Skoda Octavia Estate would be worth looking at and they have a huge boot.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I have no luck! My desktop gave up the will to live and my laptop died in sympathy!

Thanks for all the suggestions. A bucket of tea and some digestives tonight and I'll check them out.

Shameful plug.I have a ceed for sale!!!

So I've been looking, and looking and looking! Such a rabbit hole to go down!

Anyways, after all the looking I've decided on either the Peugot SW or the Ceed if I can get a decent one within my money. Third choice is still the Dacia Logan. Now I just need to find a dealer selling local to us - the North Kerry area.
