    Hi,
What are the best Gemini Jets models that you can get for a 1:400 scale model Dublin airport? Where in Dublin sells them? Which is better quality, the 1:200's or 1:400's?
I have a few of them myself, which 1:400 models in general would be essential to a model dublin airport?

Aer Lingus and Ryanair would be two obvious ones.

I believe there was a lad making a model Dublin Airport with Gemini Jets but he went quiet

Do Gemini do Ryanair? Does Ryanair even have a 1:400 model?

I believe they did. You'd be better off asking on a dedicated forum for scale model aircraft

Don't restrict yourself to Gemini Jets. I have JC Wings and Inflight200 model as well and they are great quality.

Recently I got a Lufthansa 747 1:200 at half price. It wasn't one of the mainstream brands (BBox) so I was a bit wary of buying it at first but after I found out that it was the same mould as most other 747 models I bought it. I'm glad I did as it is just as good quality as Gemini Jets (apart from the fancy box and removable landing gear) and was much cheaper.

To answer your questions, not many places in Dublin sell diecast model aircraft, Marks Models being the only one I can think of. Your best bet is online. The best places are eBay, Aviation Retail Direct, Norton, Airspotters, Aircraft Model Store and Aviation Mega Store. There are also two Irish sites ID Models and Marks Models (which has a shop in Hawkins Street).

1:200 models are a lot bigger so more detailed but also a lot more expensive. You could choose to collect both, have a small 1:200 collection or have a larger range of 1:400 models. I did buy two 1:400 models before but only buy 1:200 now.
You can see the size difference between my 1:200 and 1:400 Dash 8s:

Gemini Jets released a 1:400 Aer Lingus A320 recently. Inflight200 brought out EI-DVM which can be got quite cheaply on eBay now. There are also lots of old EI 747 and 707 models available. JC wings have a Ryanair 1:400 model (EI-DWH).

Thanks VG31. I heard that Phoenix do a Ryanair 738 as well, are they any good?

    Thanks

Yes, they are usually good but it varies depending on the mould. For example I've heard the Gemini/JC 747 mould is better than the Phoenix one. However the Phoenix A380 mound is supposedly superior.

There's lots of forums with comparisons and information and also plenty of video reviews on YouTube.

What other planes would be essential to a model Dublin airport, apart from EI and RYR?
