F2000 modem problem

Can anyone tell me why I keep having to change the channels on my f2000 to get a decent speed?! Every few days the 2.4 slows down to nothing and I have to switch the channel again. I've tried having it on auto but the same thing happens. When I switch channel I get a good solid 12-14mb speed but a few days later it will be down to 2-3mb again. Headwrecking.
This is our second f2000, last one just stopped working one day.
Raging I sent back our original fibre modem when we moved house and they installed this one! The other one never gave us a days trouble.

This is a constant problem with this router and no solution until a firmware update from Eir.

Mine keeps logging me out if I try to adjust any of the settings and cannot change anything now.

Want to disconnect the eir_wifi band but cannot get access.

Well, it doesnt apply to you then.

    To explain anyways:
You may see Ch 1-11. Ignore that. There are only really A, B, C. If house A sets A, another sets B, another C on a street then the Auto devices bounce between channels. One Auto changes causing another auto to change which then changes the the first and so on.

To be honest, I have found the F2000 to be not great at all. Wifi regularly disconnects and slows down. My first F2000 gave up the ghost after a week or so and the replacement is only so so...

I still have problems with netflix freezing at times, and that is connected by ethernet to my FTTH 1000MB. I have called Eir support who do checks on the line, which come back 100% and they change a few settings on the router, but I still get problems a few times every day...

I am wondering if the router is just plain unreliable? I have been thinking about replacing the F2000 altogether...any suggestions?

Update Managed to disconnect the eir wi-fi on the app.

Router still keeps logging my wi-fi out for up to 3 minutes or have to reboot.

The router ip now refuses to keep me logged in for more than 30 seconds.
    What a load of s**t.

EIR please sort it or going to Virgin.:mad:

as I have found out the F2000 is not good for 2.4g wireless, there are definitely issues, at least on smartphones and tablets. It does a grand job for wired connections and wifi devices like games consoles, sky box's and smart tv's.

5GHZ wireless is just as bad but fibre wired is ok at 45mbps then wireless is giving 35mbps download when working correctly.

Considering most of my cabling is old copper I suppose reasonable it is just annoying when the router bombs out on wireless.:(
