    Hi,

I am sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I have googled and have come across mixed messages.

Basically I have booked a weekend away in Europe for my parents and myself as a surprise. My father is not meant to work that weekend and mostly likely will not have to. However there is a slight risk that he might have to.

I know they have let there multi-trip Vhi l am just wondering is there any insurance compnay that you would suggest/ recommend that might cover having to cancel for work. If this is even possible

I would be taking out insurance for all three of us but am just wondering about a cancel for work clause and if anyone has had to claim for this.

    Thanks

As far as the insurance business is concerned, that is an uninsurable risk so it's highly unlikely that anyone will give you cover for it.

Anyone could get their boss to write a letter saying that so and so had to work that weekend and therefore couldn't go on holiday.

Thanks, I kind of guessed that

I think I recall some covering if you were made redundant, no chance they will cover having to come in to work.

My 2 cents...Surprises like this are not a good idea, best to give them a bail of cash and say use this to go to x place. Vouchers similarly not a good idea, cash is king.

Thanks for the replies. I had guessed much. Worse come to worse I can cancel hotel on the day and take the hit on the flight. Thanks again
