    Hi

Does anyone know of any archery courses where you can learn to make your own traditional bow?? Plenty of these kinds of courses in Canada and parts of the USA. Very interest if such courses are available here in Ireland.

Would love to be able to build a traditional bow.

    Thanks :)

Give the Heritage Park in Wexford a call. They have held courses previously. The only archery related course they are currently showing on their website is to do with archery accessories...arrows etc.

An example was this 2 day how to make a bow course that they ran in 2014

    Best of luck

There is a traditional bow-making course in Wexford in May. Just got the details myself - eventually! The course, given by Mick Henderson, will be on May 17th and 18th at the Irish Natural Heritage Park. It costs €135 Ring 053 9120733 to book. They have another one in June.
I've got a few 'self' bows (one yew, another elm) that shoot pretty well, but I really need some more skills. Love to make a Holmegaarde bow - the Original of the Species? - from Irish elm (I actually have the wood, 8" dia 7'long seasoned balk. Would share with someone with tools and skills to fashion bows.
