Have bales with small pin holes in them like a crow was at them... this wasn't the case!! Some are fine some just some have 3 or 4 small holes!! We're drew in straight after baling and stacked!! I know I would have seen them if there were there the day of baling!! Silotight plastic was put on 29 bales to a roll. Anyone any ideas?

29 bales would be a bit too many bales for my liking for a roll.
I can't see how you're going to get it tested now and what good it would do.
    Maybe I'm wrong.
But even if it was a bad batch they could say the wrapper was set too tight or something wrong on the rollers (bale handler).

For the future though if someone has one available, bale and wrap with the fusion 3 plus.

Like most people I want to know if it was the plastic at fault! I disagree with amount of plastic, hundreds of bales were wrapped here in the last 15 years putting on a roll to 33 bales and never had a problem!! I also think that barrel wrap on the fusion 3 is a fraud of a job!!

The barrel wrap is no fraud. It makes the best baled silage I'v ever seen

Do you have the original roll or is it used ? To test the plastic I'd say you need the plastic in the roll before it was stretched

    This.
You'd need to test the roll and test the plastic as is at the moment after being stretched and exposed to uv for the winter. Also the company have an out with the application of the wrap, that is out of their control.

I think your on a fools errand though. Change brand, use more wrap or cover with polythene when stacked. Or just right off as a bad year.

Do you know what the recommended number of wraps the box for the plastic recommends, if you've not used what they recommended your dead in the water already.

Another common issue is the dispenser on the wrapper, there is a specification on how much the plastic should be streched to. Now for memory, I think that a 750mm wide roll should measure no less than 650mm on the bale.. so after streching.. don't quote me on that exact figure but there is usually a range in the manual supplied by the wrapper manufacturer..

My first batch of silage was very dry into haylage whereas the second batch was moist.

I found there was more waste in the hayleage, would this be the norm
