    Hello everyone.
    Am just a newbie in this forum, so hope you'll bear with me with this query.
    It was my first time driving a BMW diesel 320D 2004 model from several type R hondas in the past that i owned.

    I have this car for over a month now with 140k odd miles on the clock.

    There were several jobs done to car and Up to date it was;
    1. remapped by sportchip in ballycoolin;
    2. Swirl flap blanked
    3. EGR deleted
    4. The usual preventive maintenance.(thermostat; waterpump)
    5. Turbo was checked (still solid and no play)
    6. Intake manifold cleaned.

    However with all things carried out; i noticed that this car drinks a lot of diesel than i expected. I was averaging 7.5 miles (12.5kms) per liter of diesel around city driving. The way i do it was; i filled up around 20€ (16 liters on 1.21€/liter) and then matk the spot on where i originally refuel on the fuel gauge. Then divide by how many kilometers ive driven.

    Being a diesel i thought it was a daylight robbery on my fuel milage compare to my hondas in the past..

    Whats your take on this guys?

    THANKS

    I suggest you try the brimming method, it will give you an exact number of mpg

    Every time you fill up (to the top), record litres used and kms driven.

    First of all your method of calculating how much fuel you are using is about as guessing a number between 1 and 10 and multiplying it by the number of shoes in your bedroom. Fill the tank to the neck, reset the trip meter then drive it till it's empty and fill again and note the mileage.

    Thanks for that suggestion mate.
    But still, you know am driving a 1.4 corolla recently; and the fuel consumption and my method is exactly thesame. Driving from st. James's hospital to blanch and some short trip at times. This BMW thing really disgruntled me.. uhhh.. averaging almost thesame!! Well 2.0L vs 1.4. Petrol vs. Diesel.. Seems like the tank is punctured..

    Could be the remapped is the culprit? From 148 bhp to 166bhp and from 339 NM to 399 NM of torque..

    Tuner said horse power wont respond to boost pressure of 15%.. torque has jump by 60 ft/lbs more

    Thats a low mileage car, should be decent on juice. :)

    Regards your measurement, €20 wont give you an idea. Fill the tank and drive say 150 miles. Then fill the tank again and divide litres used by distance travelled.

    Around town you're not going to get more than 35mpg btw just to be aware.

    Thank you so much guys for your input.

    Might try a much more smaller displacement petroll engine around blanchardstown area... ðŸ˜႒
