Gluing a shelf to a wall

I`ve a wall (concrete) in my room that I`d look to put a small shelf on.
I know screws are obviously the ideal
I don't have a drill and it doesn't make much sense to buy one just to put up a E10 shelf.
Then there`s issues around electrical cables in the wall.
I`d just be putting a few deodorant cans and stuff like that on it.

Any good adhesive that would hold one up? Is it a good idea or is it screws or nothing?

Gluing dado rail, skirting board etc is fine, but I'd imagine the cantilever effect of weight on a shelf wouldn't make glue the ideal choice. The fact that its a block wall means that its probably easier to mount a shelf than a partition wall.

You dont need a pricy drill for the job. Hammqer action drills come up regularly in lidl and aldi for abot twenty quid, and they do sets of masonary bits for a fiver

Regarding the electrical cables, as long as your not drilling into the wall directly above or below a socket or light switch you're generally ok
