    I'm guessing this is a smooth newt. Found it in a puddle on a closed forest road not far from Letterkenny today

    They are a special treat to see we have no end of frogs in the forests, but newts are a rare find it seems

    Saw another today in a different forest about 8 miles from where I was yesterday, having a good week. You gotta love nature...
