    6 months warranty.

Is it the 3 or 4tb that have the awful fail rate?

Would this work as an add on hard drive for ps4?

Does it need its own power supply or does it power off usb?

If you click the Technical Specs, you'll see it comes with an ac adaptor.

Lots of other disks on sale there too. Some good deals to be had.

Lots are showing they are out of stock, just click other colours and you should find some are still available.

Anyone know if it's possible to strip out the hard drive and use it as an internal drive in a PC?

Although I don't know about this specific drive, I know a lot of external drives don't have standard SATA connections on the drives to prevent you doing this.

I've stripped out lots of their 4tb refurbs to use in my HTPC, a couple of years now at this stage and all 100% PWO, all standard SATA connections.

I've gotten ones that do not have standard SATA so be aware that it can happen and you likely won't have any recourse.

Portable drives can have dedicated USB headers instead of a simpl SATA caddy, but I have never seen a 3.5-inch drive with dedicated USB, as they still require power, so throwing a SATA drive into a candy is much simpler.

Thanks guys, I might pick one up and use as an external drive, very cheap per TB price.

I bought the mybook a few weeks ago from this site. Removed it from the case fairly easily and there are videos on youtube which show you how. Obviously you'll need to format it once you install it so don't copy data on to it externally and expect it to appear.

one gotcha is that the 4GB is probably 15mm high, so won't fit even in a CD bay adaptor unless you cut out some space for it.

Take one of the mirror drives, when shopping it says 4tb. Doesn that mean 2 x2tb

Bought the 3TB version a while back. Took it out of the enclosure and put it into my PC. Soon after it would fail to spin up sometimes then failed completely - even after putting it back into the original enclosure. Basically it didn't last too long past the short guarantee period.

So, it's a refurb. Caveat emptor an' all that.

Little extra? It's double the price :O

But the 12TB version is only another €8 on top again. Strange.

    4TB My Cloud Mirror - €159.99
    6TB My Cloud Mirror - €209.99
    8TB My Cloud Mirror - €199.99
    12TB My Cloud Mirror - €167.99

    WTF...

Not available, so who knows what they will actually be when available.

BTW 4TB, means 2x2TB drives, which would mean only 2TB of actual storage space in mirrored mode. In mirrored mode the usable space is half of each of the above, 4TB = 2TB, 6TB = 3TB, etc.

not in stock and dearer then the 8TB version, so I doubt when it does become reavailable that it will stay at that price

I like the idea of the "My Passport Pro " basically a portable raid system, but only available for the mac. :(
