Evening, the fan belt broke on oh car as above, was recovered to a garage and the recovery driver said the fan belt has snapped. Car lost power with a bang, is it possible for the fan belt to get into the timing belt on this model, 1.4 tdci 2005 or is the timing belt covered in completely?
Money is tight so am hoping some one might know
    Thanks

    Roy

There's a sensor near the crankshaft pulley which may have been broken by the belt when it snapped causing it to cut out. The bang may just be the fan belt hitting off a body part when it snapped.

Thanks for reply..Hopefully will find out tomorrow... As long as belt didn't get under timing cover. Will post when I find out..
