Bvd unknown status

    Got a text today saying Bvd animal with unknown status added to herd. This is a calf I bought 2 weeks ago.

    Any ideas what needs to be done?

    Does he have a bvd sample tag in his ear? Maybe best bet is to order a BVD sample tag and send it off to lab. Did you buy off farmer or mart? Could you chase up original owner and ask what the story is?

    I thought you couldn't buy/sell an animal without it being bvd tested?

    The little round one? I tought they done away with those. Bought off a dealer he's usually ok. Not near blue card now.

    How do I take a sample and do I have to pay?

    Ring AHI or whoever sent the text and ask. Seems very strange that the movement was allowed if the bvd test wasnt right. You can order a green bvd tag to test it. Tag is about 3 euro and testing is about 3 euro too plus postage

    Animal cannot move if bvd test not done and the person who moved the animal is responsible for the animal,

    Called the department today. Everything was in order and I shouldn't of got the text
