Exactor fan resting on the insulation boards without any pipes connected?

Hi, guys, I have a question to ask, I just got my attic converted recently, and I found out the builders just left exactor fan sitting on the ceiling in toilet at attic, here is no pipe connecting to the exactor fan, but they did dig a hole behind the exactor through the insulation board to the roof slab,
I would like to know whether that is right way to do? As I am worried about the moisture?

    Thanks in advance :-)

Definitely should be vented directly outside and not into the attic. The moist air will condense in the attic and cause a lot of problems.

Thank you ! I think I need to talk to my builder for that :-(

Did they go through the tar sheet to just under the roof tiles? Or is it venting damp air into the attic space?

It should either be vented through a tile vent or to piped to one of the soffits.

Yes, they cut a hole on the tar sheet, so it is under the rod tiles for exactor fan,

Ok, are you 100% sure they didn't put a tile vent on the roof then?

Be sure of that before you go back and complain.

    True.

I'm assuming there is, we need more details and maybe a photo would help. :)

Just had exactly the same issue with my builder and after researching it found that it should only be extracted via a tile vent and should also be fitted with insulated ducting which cuts down on condensation. It should not be extracted via the sofit as this can cause as much issues as not extracting it at all.
