    Anyone know where I might search for "Cycling" editions from the middle to late 1950s?

    Trinity College Library should have a copy of every magazine published in Britain or Ireland going back many decades, as it's a copyright library. So if you just want to do research or read, and can get a reader's card, and spend a bit of time in Dublin, that should work for you.
