Mate 9 vs P10 Plus?

    Hey all,

Three recently launched the Mate 9 for sale on their website and also have a pre-registration form for interest in the P10 and P10 plus.

Looking at the specs for the phones, the P10plus and the Mate 9 are almost identical, with a little difference in the camera department, screen size and battery size.

I like the fact that the Mate9 has a 4000mAh battery which should make it almost impossible to burn through it all in one day of normal use, but the P10 is a lot prettier and the difference in battery size is minor.

I'm expecting the difference in price to be +/- €50ish, the Mate9 is going for €670 on the website, or €150 up front on a €60 contract or €250 upfront on a €45 contract which means when compared to their sim only plans, you end up paying €870 for the phone on the €60 contract or €610 on the €45 contract (cost of contract with phone, minus cost of a sim only package, plus the cost of the upfront payment = how much you're actually paying for the phone).

Do you think the P10plus will be priced a lot higher than the mate 9 or will it be the €50ish I'm expecting and which do you guys think would be a better deal?

From what I understand, the P10 plus has been priced at €699. This is in all the info being provided by Huawei since launch. What they haven't said is if this price is for the 64 or 128 version.

3 are getting the 64GB version in black, so it should be no more than €699 SIM free. Well, according to my logic anyway.

If the P10 Plus is 699 on prepay and they stuck with the same upfront costs as they have for the mate 9 it would mean you'd only pay €610 for the phone over the 24 months on the €45 contract which is a cracking deal.

Yeah, it would be. I've been thinking it'll be about €199 or so up front. I'm stillundecided as to what to go for though. The S7 Edge is still calling to me, and I'm curious how much the price will drop when the S8 comes out.

Anyone know a three store with a working mate 9 on display yet?

The flagship stores are Grafton street, Henry Street, Dundrum and Blanchardstown, so if you're in Dublin those 4 would be your best bet, call ahead to be sure.
