    Hi,

Is it possible to get an auxiliary input installed into a mark 5 golf? its a 2006 1.6 comfort-line model with the factory stereo. Thanks!

Colm thats perfect thanks! Any experience installing these, are they difficult/require any special tools? Don't want to accidentally set off the airbag light

Nah, piece of cake once you follow the instructions for taking the radio out (which I didn't and didn't know about 2 screws under that cubby tray over the radio)

There may be a version that has an iPod connection too rather than a headphone jack, if that's what you'd prefer.

I put one in a Polo last year, used the vacant cd changer slot on the back of the standard VW rcd radio unit.

As Colm said, it's fairly straight forward once you have those key things for removing the unit.

Thanks lads, had a look at a tutorial doesn't look too bad! Presume halfords would have trim removal tools and t20 screwdrivers? Can I ask where ye placed the connects2 when finished? Did ye drill a roll threw a trim piece and run the wires through there? Youtube tutorials bit vague on it

The unit I used stays in behind the radio, and I ran the cable to come out the console where there's a shelf just below the centre air vents on a Polo.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Golf interior, but I only needed RCD radio removal keys.

Just wanted to say cheers for the advice lads, got a connects2 over the weekend and installed it there, not too difficult a job, although the instructions don't mention where to route the cable through or where to leave the device. Ended up drilling a small hole in the upper console and running it through there.

Would have had to be a bigger hole to get the head of the cable through, I'm very happy with how it looks! Different horses for courses I guess
