    Hi,

New to here so go easy! I'm moving back after a few years living abroad and will be taking my mountain bike with me. I live in the Killiney/Shankill area and was looking for some tips on where I can go to get some trails. I use wikilogs app over here, people record their gps trails and upload them to share - they're really easy to follow as it shows you your location in comparison to their trail and if you go off course it alerts you. Is there something similar for Ireland? I don't have a car so hoping there's somethign I can get to in the area. I've heard of ticknock but looking for other suggestions. Thanks!

Have a look on strava heat maps

There looks to be a few trails in the woods here

Trail badger http://www.trailbadger.com/ has some trails and info but not much in the way of trail forks or similar. Considering we hosted one of the most popular rounds of the EWS mountain biking is still a bit of an underground scene. Some good investment going into the midlands and a new private bike park opening near ticknock this year.

    Hi,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but looking for same advice as the OP.

I was recently walking in the leadmines (within my 5km) and ‘discovered’ some trails through the woods. It really whetted my appetite!

Would anyone be able to give me some more info on mtn bike trails in the leadmines? What length are the trails? Difficulty? Could you link to some strava routes? What about Barnaslingan woods?

    Thanks in advance!

The trails up there are great - quite technical, at least for my ability level. There are loads of roots and trees to dodge but you will have them almost to yourself if you go at the right time. Here's a ride I did a few weeks ago where we covered most of the trails.
