The guy has 6 other cars for sale so on the side dealer. The Avensis has 230k km on it, no demand whatsoever from your ordinary punter with mileage like that.

Could be fine, might not be, as always do full history check to verify.

There was a change of ownership on 06/03/17

That really puts me off in the case of a private seller (there should be no change in ownership if a garage is taking in a car as a trade in) but maybe that's just down to personal past experience.

I'd rather see a documented service history - don't particularly see any reason why a modern car should not come without one. Would rather have seen more info in the ad on condition of car...when the clutch and flywheel was changed etc. rather than stuff like electric windows and mirrors marked in that we all know a 2008 Avensis is going to have anyway.

I see a few imperfections in the body of the car but not severe either in so far as I can see from the photos. Don't expect a flawless car for the year and money though.

If its getting to the point where he's plaguing you with texts etc that would be an alarm bell to me. But if you do decide to go for it bear his eagerness in mind. Go in lower than €3k and bear in mind as a buyer your best bargaining tool is your feet, plenty more out there.....

Get the car checked over by an independent party qualified to do so is my advice.

The rear quarter on the passenger side of that car was damaged and poorly repaired. Headlights look cloudy/faded which would suggest the car was driving a lot at night. Could have been a hackney/taxi at some stage.

Cheap cars are usually cheap for a reason. If you looking at the cheapest examples of a given year then chances are you are dredging the bottom end of the market where the cars as well as the sellers have questionable histories.
