I need a holiday on my own. Work is just mental at the moment and while I've a holiday booked and paid for with a group of friends towards the end of the year, I'm finding that I just need to get away from everyone and go away on my own for a few days to unwind.

I'm looking to go in end April/May. Somewhere warm but a beach isn't necessary. Not too expensive either although technically money isn't an issue I'd still prefer not to piss it away. I like going to bars so somewhere with a nice bar scene. Chances are I'll buy a pint then sit back and read a book for a few hours.

I'd also like a city with a strong culture so I can go sightseeing, etc.

Anyone done anything like this before or anyone know of somewhere that I might be get enjoy that first my description?

Not sure where in the country you are located but I would recommend Almeria.

Direct flights from Dublin to Almeria with Ryanair

Bus transfer to Mojacar. Weather should be nice at that time of the year.

Plenty of different bars, restaurants and has a lovely beach.

Albufeira seems to be the new "cheap" place to go to, and it has a little bit of everything you've described.

In Limerick but I've no issues getting flights from Dublin. Thanks for the suggestion, hadn't heard of Almeria before

Vigo in North West Spain is great for solo trips and so cheap. Ryanair fly direct from Dublin

Give Malaga a go, fits what you are looking for and you can fly from Shannon
