    We use a mix of royal canine dry (bichon variety) and cooked chicken. She's almost 6 and perfectly healthy.

    Well you say best but there is no size fits all answer as even the best on paper may not work for your dog; in general though if you consider the best dog food (which may or may not work for an individual dog) you'd talk grain/filler free such as Acana, Taste of the Wild, Lukullus etc.

    My maltese has been on taste of the wild for years now and does very well on it.
