2013 Focus steering problem

I have a 2013 Focus van, 78K on the clock, that has developed a steering problem. Just tested last week and flew through.
It feels like I have a few bags of cement in the back.
Steering very light and vague and feels like it needs correcting constantly as I drive along. Strangely it tracks relatively straight when I let the wheel go.
It also won't re-center itself when cornering. I have to turn it back to center myself.
No obvious clunking or banging but it seems a bit noisier when doing a lock to lock while stationary.
Any ideas? Column, rack, power steering?
