Hi, my dad ordered a new 1 of these but was told there is a 8/10 week wait due to an engine change.

    Anyone else hear this?

There is a facelift being done to the Logan, and the 1.2 engine is apparently being dropped for a new 1.0 engine (there are non turbo and turbo versions, not sure what would be gong in the Logan)

Thanks, 3 dealers gave 3 different stories.

    What model is he ordering?

What are the 3 different stories? I assume they all result in the same delay?

Yes the 1.2 is replaced by sce75 and facelift .

I was told on a web chat the wait was more like 12 weeks and seems to be consistant with what UK buyers are saying so makes me think it could be even more here maybe .

I was seriously considering buying a petrol Logan but I'm suspicious about this new engine being very underpowered .... I'm driving one before I make up my mind .

It should be more powerful in reality than the outgoing 1.2 engine, 3 cylinder will make it more torquey.

Have a drive of a Skoda Fabia estate 1.0. Should be a similar experience to the Logan as they are pretty much the same weight, the engine is the same configuration, size and horsepower. They also share the same 0-60 time. That'll give you an idea if you can live with it.

There's always been a Logan shortage hasn't there? This time last year it was around the same.

Pretty much 3 different wait times. I wonder would he be better getting a Sandero.

Go with the longest wait time and add 2 weeks. Base your decision off that.

    The 1.15 4 cylinder outgoing engine has a peak torque of 107 Nm @ 4,250 revs/min.

The replacement 1.0 3 cylinder engine has a peak torque of 97 Nm @ 3,500 rpm.

Hence the older engine has a torque peak some 10% greater than the newer 1.0 engine.

On paper the 1.0 is supposed to be more economical that the 1.15 but in the real world they are giving identical numbers.
