Gardening Fleece - how much does it bring the soil temp up by?

    Im looking forward to sewing seeds out doors and gardening fleece helped last year ...

    Ive raised beds which helps soil temps as well ...

    How soon is too soon?

    Use a thermostat?

    Use it as soon as there is some heat to be retained by the fleece.

    I heard of a head gardener on some estate or such, who used to drop his pants and sid down bare-arsed on the beds to gauge when the temperature was right for planting:)
