Getting a handicap

I am looking at joining a golf club to get a handicap but I don't think I know any members at the club. Would I need to try to find a member to play a casual round of golf with to mark my first 3 cards? What would be the best way to do this?

You can say it to your HC secetary, they may let you play in an single's comp just to get the card signed.Either way they will help you out.

Thanks for the response. Presumably if I was allowed I would have to finish out every hole.

Think I will bite the bullet and join. Spending too much time playing golf, watching golf clips and buying golf gear to not have something to work towards.

They will cut your worst holes back to 3 over ( I think? ) but generally yes, for a more accurate HC I'd advise finishing each hole.

There be no hassle getting anyone to play with and mark your cards. Well all had to do it. Best look with it.

Great. Hope to join up next week so I'll see how it goes. First port of call will be to track down the HC secretary.

How often does this question be asked? At least once a week.
