It became obligatory for bosses and management to follow rugby during the Celtic Tiger when we started winning...

I'm supposed to be doing childminding but it has turned into an absolute pack of f*cking **** for the past while. I can work anything from 6/7 hours a day to 13/14 hours a day. Weekends are becoming more and more common with these pr1cks too. Did last weekend, due in this weekend and again next weekend too. And this isn't just a few hours on a Saturday. Overnight stays.

I'm stuck in their bathroom crying my eyes out. They have been home since 8 and I'm not allowed to finish or go home because the rugby is more important. While they go away tomorrow. There is no end to my week. They have me booked for tomorrow so they can go out for the night until Sunday.

Fcuk knows what time I'll be allot finish at tonight.

    I want to go home.

I don't get paid properly either. Not much more than the dole.

Just finished, Hull beat St. Helens 24 to 14,including an 8 point try. Don't get them in Union ;)

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

The fcuks are in their own house watching the match. Too lazy to look after their own children.

Hey op its OK think they will sack you as you let the kids in on the dads interview on BBC earlier.

Cops will probably want a word about the ninja style jump in the room and pulling the kids back out.

If you have a contract that requires notice then read it and see if they have abided fully to it or have broken it themselves.

Well if the parents are aware that they will be distracted by the rugby and are willing to pay a childminder, I don't see why they shouldn't tbh.

The OPs attitude stinks, she's paid to do a job and instead is crying in the bathroom.

Presumably she is being paid an hourly rate, paying PAYE, PRSI and USC and not claiming any benefit.

The goys seem to get let off very lightly when they lose in comparison to the soccer players. 'Brave performance' etc.

Yeah that annoys me, they threw the competition away, to inferior teams on paper.

Not the first time it has happened, but it will be dressed up as a "learning experience" and "a learning curve" next year.

Plus, the analysts have incredible notions at the start of the competition, that is a strong similarity to the English in soccer tournaments.

In comparison the soccer team is a lot more limited on paper then the rugby team, yet gets slaughtered when they lose.

However, the difference in rugby the fans don't want to beat the sh*te out of each other.

And the rugby players and analysts talk a lot more articulated guff, then the soccer crowd.

But a lot of it is guff nonetheless.

The OP should be pleased there will be far less interest in the Ireland v England rugby match next week.

So this specially for the OP

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Rugby is the classic Celtic Tiger bullshít sport - a tiny number of people play it from an even smaller socio-economic set ("What about Limerick!" is the standard "rugby is not a wannabe elite sport" plea).

"Grassroots rugby". Yes, all those fee-charging anglicising Roman Catholic and English Protestant secondary schools in South Dublin. Such a strong "grassroots". It's just a ridiculously hyped business bombarding our tv screens. In proportion to its actual support levels in society, it manages to outdo English soccer in terms of hype. And that's saying something.

In fairness to Rugby there has been a fair crossover between fellas playing gaelic football and moving to rugby.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_players_who_have_converted_from_one_football_code_to_another#Gaelic_football_to_rugby_union
