Hey guys if any of you guys have porcelain veneers or have any knowledge about what toothpaste is the best u can get in Ireland and what ingredients to avoid ( sodium bi carbonate and hydrated silica I heard damage the flame both are abrasive). I would try find one without those ingredients but unfortunately it's very tough. Any recommendations and help on this would be highly appreciated and ir IA urgent. I know supersmile is an option but I would have to order it online and could end up costly. Cheers guys pls help me out

Ezra, I am a dentist (I do a lot of cosmetic dental work) and I have veneers. I use whatever toothpaste my wife brings home from the supermarket.

Doesn't get any more official than the above, but I concur, get whatever toothpaste you like

Thank you for your reply Dave yeh I know hydrated silica is a abrasive that's why I'm so concerned. Arm and hammer I think has a 35 abrasive level. That being said I'm still super worried as I've heard how bad hydrated silica is period. Unfortunately there's very few toothpastes without it and the ones without have baking soda aka bi carbonate. The all natural ones I can't imagine are roo good either on veneers who knows what they're doing. I know supersmile is recommended but that had baking soda too with a abrasive level of 60 and it's very hard to get in Ireland

hydrated silica in whitening toothpastes are not abrasive enough to have an effect on glazed glass ceramics used in dental veneers. The abrasion of toothpaste is mostly on soft dentine. Ceramics are far more abrasion resistant than dentine.

If you veneers are composite, thats softer and I would avoid "whitening" toothpastes with abrasives.

Dont overthink this OP....get a nice smooth cheap toothpaste, usually the cheapest one. Make sure it has some fluoride.
