Currently looking at the 2.0 diesel model golf from 2009 onwards. It's a 2009 I want. Say one has 120000 miles and is an entry level, would you expect to give around 7000? I'm not interested in an import as done deal is full of them, particularly golf's.

Is there any problems I need to look out for with the 2.0?

i had a 2007 170bhp 2.0 diesel golf. I loved the car, but they have serious issues with DPF's. If they ever need replacing it can cost up to 2 grand to rectify. Make sure you are only buying if you are doing the milage, cos if you arnt the dpf will be constantly blocked. Also dual mass flywheels have a tendency to give up at that milage i think. Also took me 6 months to sell mine and i seen others on donedeal that took 9+ to sell. If im correct that should be the mk5 your looking at?

Most Irish 09 2.0 models would be the 110bhp version.
I'd imagine the OP is looking at the mk6 model.

It's the mark 6 I'm looking at. Two grand for a DPF doesn't sound alluring. I do approx 20k a year so diesel makes sense.
