    Hi all,

Been out of the PC loop for quite a while now, but picked up a 2nd hand custom gaming build. Its about 3 years old, and although it seems to run fine, I'd like some feedback on how I'd go about keeping it tip top.

    Current specs are:
    Intel i7 4930k - 3.4Ghz
    Corsair H110
    Windforce Edition Gtx 780ti 3gb
Asus sabertooth x79 atx lga2011 mobo
    Dominator® Platinum Series — 16GB DDR3 1866MHz
    Evga 750wat
1 SSD Drives Samsung Evo 120gb

    Thanks for any advice.

4930k wont hold you back really yet, you could sell the 780Ti and jump up to a 1080 (dunno if theyve taken a hit now the Ti is out).

More SSDs and a GPU upgrade, that's about it.

Is your monitor standard 1080p 60ghz? If so, a 780Ti should really be still fine for that, where as a GTX1070 is a tad overkill and there is significant upgrade cost involved.

    If 1440p and/or 120-144hz monitor, depending on your budget, GTX1070, GTX1080, GTX1080Ti.

If you have the budget, and if you're still using a 1080p monitor, I'd probably go for a 1440p monitor and a GTX1070 (or 1080 if you can afford it).

Once you go 1440p you will never go back.

    :)

You could also hold out for a while for the Vega offering to see if it drives down the 1070/1080 prices a bit more as well.

Lots of GTX 980Tis on Adverts for €350-400 which is a great price for a card which is equal/better to GTX 1070.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

Desktop is running standard 60hz 1080, which was a welcome upgrade from 1366*768 on laptop.

I do alot of graphic & web design, 3d cad so I'll be keeping my eyes open for 144hz and upgraded gfx card..
