custom sized kitchen splash backs?

Anytime I have gotten a new kitchen installed, i've simply asked for a black metal splash back, so they simply measured the area and made one for it.

However, I recently had my kitchen removed and then reinstalled due to renovations and we could not save the splash back as it was too firmly glued to the wall. So I've asked around all the kitchen places in Dublin and not one of them can supply a black metal splash back anymore?

They only do the 2 generic sizes and nothing outside of that.
It has to be metal as there is a slight kink in the wall so glass, tiling or acrylic are out.

Does anyone know anyone that still makes metal kitchen splash backs around Dublin anymore?

I cook a lot and installed a hand painted kitchen (units and wall). I splash a lot. I got the painter to put a heavy hand applied clear varnish over the paint. No need for any splash back.

Unfortunately would not work in my case, the wall is painted in a faux paint and even clear varnish would be very visible as the wall has different shading and finishes.

Hi Skatedude,
did you get the black metal splashback easily in Ireland?

I have used metal splashbacks but they are expensive and time consuming to custom make.

Would be interested to hear how you get on - thanks

No luck at all, you can get stainless steel, but not black. Looks like I'll have to order from the UK.

Could you spray or paint the steel,maybe an enamel paint or something of the like

It's the hassle more than anything. if i want one, I have to find a metal fab place to make up the steel, then find a way to transport it to someone who can spray it and then find someone else to install it. At that stage the costs are through the roof.

Any kitchen place used to able to supply metal splashbacks of any size when getting a kitchen, Now none of them can.

Cheers for the info. Delvo was the only company that I could find that make custom sized splashbacks, but only do stainless steel so they are out.

And the gas company is out as they dont do custom sizes
