Transferring medical history from Ireland to England

    Hi all,
I appreciate this may not be the correct place for this type of post - but it seems to be the most suitable area after searching the forums for similar threads.

I moved to the United Kingdom in 2015 having originally lived in Cork since birth. I have been here so far for almost 2 years, yet my medical history still resides in Ireland because it seems there isn't a single person who knows what the steps are to transfer the medical history over to my new UK based GP - with both my new GP, and my old GP, telling me that it is the other party who must initiate the transfer - basically sending me back and forward. Having previously applied to the army last year, I will not be accepted due to my records being unavailable, and the British army cannot access records based within the Republic of Ireland, which had resulted in a cancellation of the application at that time.

All I can think is that surely somebody has moved to the United Kingdom, or anywhere else in the world, from Ireland - and have been successful in transferring their medical records. If so, then how have you done it? What must I do to get out of this endless loop of the typical "customer support" style runaround?

Contact your GP and he/she should have the records and will give you a copy.
