I was told it would be more durable if it was sprayed..has any1 any experience of paint v spraying?

Durability is to do with the paint and not how it's applied.

    What price did you get?

That was just the timber stairs? Not the kitchen units?

    Is it a big staircase?

Yeah, seems a bit pricey. e1,250 is about where it should be.

I got my whole kitchen done plus the kitchen table and 6 chairs for €850.
€1250 for just a stairs sounds ludicrous imo.

And tbh 850 for a kitchen alone is way too cheap, never mind the table and chairs. You either got it done by someone on the dole or a pole lad because it should be double that for a good job. I could charge 850 easily for a kitchen and have it done in 2 days, but it would be crap.

It was done 4 years ago and is still in top notch shape. It wasn't a 'pole' as you put it either. It was a guy from Kildare and he wasn't on the dole either. I've recommend to loads more and they were all more than satisfied with his work.

4 years ago the country was in depths of recession and many tradesmen were doing work for small money just to keep busy.

Doesn't matter. €1250 is ridiculous money for painting a stairs. Daylight robbery imo. Then again fools and their money.....

Do you know the size of the staircase and what finish is currently on it and what work is involved?

    Or are you guessing?

I'm looking at having kitchen and staircase painted this year - I would expect the staircase to be the same or more expensive to paint in my case.
