Bit more info. What's your budget and what resolution and Hertz is your monitor?

    If under €500 I'd go with a graphics card upgrade to something like a GTX 1060 6GB, RX 480 8GB or a GTX 1070.

If closer to €1000 I'd get the Ryzen 5 1500, new board, 16GB of DDR4, a GTX 1070 and maybe a new PSU. You could get some money back selling your older parts then as well.

2nd hand 3770 for €130ish and swap the card for something like a GTX1060 6GB for €250. Both will make a huge difference in BF1. I suppose it's budget dependent. You would get €50-60 for the GTX570 and probably €80 for the 2500K.

Usually I'd say just a card upgrade as the i5-2500K is still pretty decent especially if overclocked but BF1 loves i7 processors.

thanks, guys, was looking to spend about 500, do you think the GTX1080's will come down in price?

any risk in buying second hand stuff.....I had a look at adverts and some of it seems overpriced.

A GTX 1080 would probably be overkill. What resolution and refresh rate does your monitor support and do you plan to upgrade it later?

If it's 1080p/60Hz then a GTX 1060 6GB would be more than enough. If you plan on going 1080p/144Hz or 1440p/144Hz then maybe go for a 1070.

There's always a risk buying stuff second hand. I've had no issues so far though apart from 1 item from Ebay which I got a refund for.

Processors, essentially none. Cards are more of a lottery but realistically they don't often go bad, and if buying a fairly recent model they'd be still under warranty. The GTX1080's just got a price drop already.

GTX1080 class card though is radical overkill unless you have a 1440p monitor and/or 144hz display, it would be wasted.

must check my monitor when I go home, it was a top end one at the time, but four / five years old now.

re the 1060 / 1070 - I'm assuming it should just slot in to pc as a direct replacement of old card (plug and play), maybe update drivers if necessary? or is there anything else I need to think about. the only thing I've done before is upgrade memory but found that straight forward enough.
