Dyson hoover repair

Have one at home . I was taking the bass off one day and the plastic seemed to cracked. Its not working great now and dust seems to be coming out. Can I get it repaired? Get a bass only ?

Have you contacted Dyson directly? http://www.dyson.ie/support/contact.aspx

Their CS is supposed to be very good.
